No. Ever Ruin is free to play during the beta. There is an optional Wayfarer's Pass and cosmetic Crownshards; they never sell power.

Move with W A S D and aim and fire with the mouse. Space dashes, Shift uses your hero's skill and F drinks a draught. Q and E turn the camera; 0 (or the on-screen button) talks to whoever is near. T opens the emote wheel and R leaves a rift. On a phone, all of it is on screen.

Yes. Everyone online shares the Wayrest. Form a party from the noticeboard, step into a rift together, or post on the Muster Board for a raid. Friends can follow you into a run that has already started.

On a normal life you keep your account, your vault and everything you stored; recruit the next hero and carry on. Hardmode lives are self-found, and a fallen Hardmode hero stays behind as a grave.

Yes. On a phone the game switches to a touch layout with five tabs and on-screen controls. It works in portrait and landscape; landscape gives you more of the world. A tablet with a keyboard plays like a computer.

Close other heavy tabs and make sure hardware acceleration is on in your browser's settings. Pixel art is drawn at whole-number sizes; if the page is zoomed (Ctrl and + or −), set the zoom back to 100%.

Yes, so your heroes and vault are kept safe on the server. Sign up with an email and a password of at least twelve characters at your account page. Keep your password somewhere safe: password reset is not available yet.

On the game's server. Rewards, loot and gold are granted by the server, so your progress follows you to any browser where you sign in. One account can be signed in to one game at a time.

Ever Ruin is in beta. We try hard to keep every save, but a reset may happen before the full release; it will always be announced in the news first.

The game server is on the US West Coast. Players everywhere can join; the game predicts your own movement so it feels immediate even on a long or unsteady connection.
